Earthquake in N Thailand - May 2014

The earthquake of May 5th, Mw 6.2, occurred in north Thailand, close to Chiang Rai. It probably broke one of the WSW-ENE striking, right-lateral faults typical of the Golden Triangle region. Those faults spectacularly offset the large rivers such as the Mekong.
