Importance of texture controlled in-situ U-Pb dating: In-Situ U-Pb dating on texturally controlled samples from Southern India, Sri Lanka and Antarctica. The new method will improve our understanding on the terrane evolution better than just studying U-Pb age of a mineral sample. Organic electronics: organic photovoltaics and sensors: Inherently conducting polymers have been investigated for electronic device applications; and even though these materials have great promise, many scientific and technological issues have not been sufficiently addressed or understood. For the full exploitation of this class of electronic materials in integrated circuits, structure-property relationship of the polymer and device architectures are very important. Here we will discuss about the issues and chalenges in organic electronics. In addition we will also discuss about the advantages due to the possibility of structural tuning of molecules to tailor the electronic properties will be discussed with examples such as sensors and photovoltaic devices.
